Augmentative & Alternative Communication

& VIRTUAL SERVICES 


We provide services and support for Augmentative and Alternative (AAC) users for clients aged birth to 99+ in Thunder Bay, Northwestern, ON and across Ontario. We provide face-to-face services within the geographical region of Thunder Bay and virtual care for clients across the province. 

 

  • We do NOT have a waitlist!

  • We provide receipts of payment for reimbursement from healthcare benefits programs.

  • We are a Jordan’s Principle provider. If your child is First Nation/Indigenous we support and work with you to access funding for speech and language services including AAC devices and programming.

  • We are an OAP Provider

 

Our clinicians have significant experience providing AAC assessment and intervention for clients with:

 

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

  • Intellectual or developmental difficulties 

  • Developmental apraxia of speech

  • Brain injury, stroke and other 

  • Neurodegenerative diseases (ALS, Parkinson’s Disease)

 

Our clinicians have: 

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current devices

  • Up-to-date knowledge of current speech-generating programs and applications

 

Our clinicians provide:

  • assessment services

  • treatment services

  • initial device and programming recommendations 

  • device programming, updating and personalization

  • client, parent/family and support system (school, daycare, healthcare team etc.) training
